Hill-country cardamom
Green Cardamom Pods
Elettaria cardamomum · Floral, citrusy, bright

Shade-grown in the misty highlands. Dried carefully to lock in colour and aroma, perfect for desserts, biriyani, and specialty coffee drinks.

Low-country pepper
Black Peppercorns

Bold pepper harvested at peak ripeness, sun-dried on raised mats. Crafted for chefs who want heat with layered citrus and pine notes.

From family stories to digital platform

Legacy of Ceylon connects traditional Sri Lankan spice knowledge with a modern, transparent supply chain and digital tools.

Legacy of Ceylon is rooted in smallholder farms, coastal cinnamon gardens, and hill-country estates that have quietly supplied families for generations. Our aim is simple: honour that heritage while building a clean, trustworthy digital brand.

Phase one focuses on storytelling — origin, processing, people. As the platform grows, we will add transparent batch data, roast and grind profiles, and curated pairing ideas for chefs, cafés, and home cooks.

Over time, Legacy of Ceylon will become a bridge between Sri Lankan growers and global buyers, making it easier to source directly while keeping value as close to the village as possible.

Tech foundations (behind the scenes):

  • Modern front-end
Built to be migrated into a Next.js / React application for dynamic content, user accounts and storefront features.
  • Azure-native hosting
Static hosting on Azure keeps costs low today, while Azure Functions and databases can be added later without rebuilding everything.
  • AI-ready content model
Clear product descriptions and origin notes make it easy to plug in AI chat assistants that can answer questions about flavour, use, and sourcing.
Future: Online orders & AI spice guide

A quick snapshot of how this website can evolve into a full digital platform, without changing your core stack.

  • Online storefront
Product catalogue, stock levels, and shopping cart built with Next.js and hosted on Azure Static Web Apps with serverless APIs.
  • Secure payments
Integration with Stripe or other gateways for card, wallet, and bank transfers, with orders stored securely in an Azure database.
  • AI chat box for buyers
A branded AI assistant that can recommend spices, explain flavour profiles, suggest recipes, and answer shipping questions based on your own content.
  • Producer dashboards
Later, provide simple dashboards for farmers and co-ops to see orders, harvest planning, and feedback — all served from the same Azure back-end.
